My endurance sports experience didn't start until after college. I came from a completely explosive and sprint sports background as pole vaulter at WSU "Go Cougs" But throughout college I always wanted to know my limits and how far I could take my body. I loved the hard workouts during the fall where you tested your body physically and mentally, but was always held back from long workouts because apparently pole vaulters dont need to be able to go for over an hour run. I graduated from WSU in May 2013 with a B.S in Mechanical Engineering and the same day I took my last jump as a vaulter at PAC 12's I went for a 4 mile run and never looked back.

My introduction to triathlon was at a young age because my cousin Kent had done multiple Ironman's and ever since I have looked up to him in the aspect of what it takes to train and just be in good shape. He even taught me how to ride a bike with clip in pedals and I am happy to say I didn't fall for at least 3 months. I actually did my first triathlon at the start of my senior year of college. I was initially signed up for a sprint tri with my friend at the local pool but ended up having to change it to an Olympic tri one week later due to a friends wedding. I had no idea what I was really doing going into that first race but with a swimming background and some random training that I did that summer getting ready for track season I was able to pull off a decent race and got 2nd in my AG. I was hooked! I signed up for my first 70.3 right after that race and just had to wait to graduate to be able to train.

And here we are, I have raced four 70.3's and one 140.6 and two marathons in a 3 years span with a couple sprints mixed in there too. I am taking my time to explore what I am capable of, and wanting to have a long career in Triathlon. I don't know where it will take me but I am excited to find out.
